Regulatory Update: Participant Investment Advice: An overview of participant investment advice options.
Smart401k Investment Advice
To effectively serve plan participants, we believe they need investment advice that is personalized to their situation, an investment education program to keep them updated and informed, and access to advisers to answer any investment related questions they might have.
We realize that participants have different needs when it comes to their retirement plan.
- For those that want to be more involved in managing the investments in their account, we offer our Online Advice program.
- For those that prefer the convenience of investment changes made automatically on their behalf, we offer our Managed Portfolios. These may also be used as a plan’s QDIA.
Through either program, participants have access to the same investment advice from Smart401k, and we accept fiduciary responsibility for our recommendations.
Investment Education
The goal of our ongoing communications program and interactive tools and resources are to go beyond telling participants “what” they should do (advice) to “why” we believe they should do it (education). We strongly believe that the “why” is a key ingredient in promoting healthy investing habits in an investor population that has historically made very poor decisions.
Advisers
We encourage interaction between participants and our advisers. Participants can contact our advisers by phone, email or live chat to discuss our advice recommendations or any other retirement investing related topics.
