Our Executive Team
Prior to starting Smart401k in 2003, chairman, Scott Revare, spent
18 years as a leader of the North American Financial and Human Resources practice
for Accenture, the world's largest management and technology consulting firm. There, Scott developed major financial education programs and new business processes for
Fortune 500 organizations. Scott was born in New York, but grew up in the Kansas City area. Scott lives in Leawood, KS, with his wife, three sons and Labradoodles Kramer and Elaine. Scott is an avid tennis player.
Chief investment officer and co-founder Adam Bold is the host of the nationally
syndicated "The Mutual Fund Show®," broadcast every Saturday throughout the United States. He is also founder and CEO of The Mutual Fund Store®, a fee-based investment adviser with locations throughout the country. Adam's investment expertise and ability to
communicate in terms that are easy to understand make him a frequent guest on national
TV financial shows. He is an avid car enthusiast and golfer.
President and chief executive officer, Scott Holsopple, joined Smart401k from Summit Partners, an $11 billion
venture capital and private equity firm. While at Summit, Scott focused on investments
in the financial services and technology industries, including the firm's investments in
The Mutual Fund Store®, LiveOffice and Globe Wireless. Earlier in his career, Scott was
an investment banker at TD Securities, where he worked on a variety of Mergers &
Acquisitions, equity and debt transactions in the telecom industry. Scott lives in downtown Kansas City. He's an avid runner, and completed the New York Marathon (his first) in November 2008.
Shannon Duncan, vice president of marketing and communication, started with Smart401k in November of 2009. Prior to joining the firm, she spent 13 years at J.P. Morgan Retirement Plan Services where she advanced participant communication using the principles of behavioral finance and adult learning. As Director of the Participant Experience, Shannon was responsible for product development and managing the strategy behind the targeted participant communication programs. She graduated from the University of Missouri, Columbia with a Bachelor of Science in Human Environmental Studies. Shannon resides in Overland Park, Kansas with her husband and two young children.
Scott Swezy joined Smart401k as vice president in 2008 and after spending 15 years
working in the financial industry, first with American Century Service Corporation and then
with JPMorgan Retirement Plan Services. While at JPMorgan Scott focused on client service, holding positions as Retirement Plan Consultant and Director of Retirement Product Strategy. There, he gained valuable experience in bringing high quality scalable services to some of the
largest retirement plans in the country. Scott, his wife and their two sons live in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, a suburb of Kansas City. In his free time he enjoys coaching his sons in baseball and cycling. Scott participates annually in the MS 150 ride, a 150-mile bike tour across the state of Missouri to benefit MS research.
