Who is a good candidate for Smart401k membership?
Our service is designed to help anyone with a work retirement plan (also called an employer-sponsored plan). People who will find our service especially helpful include investors who:
- want an easy-to-use solution to help with fund choice,
- want to establish a long-term retirement investing plan,
- place a high value on unbiased investment advice,
- need extra help understanding retirement plans and the investment options within them,
- just don’t have the time or interest to do all the research necessary for proper retirement planning,
- are interested in confirming or discussing retirement investment choices with a retirement planning expert and/or
- want to actively engage in planning for retirement using a wide variety of easily available resources.
Who is not a good candidate for Smart401k membership?
In our experience, people who do not agree with our investment approach will choose not to take advantage of the benefits of membership.
Plan participants who will not appreciate the value of our services are investors who:
- believe in making frequent changes in an attempt to time the market,
- believe it is possible to achieve maximum gains without assuming some risk,
- have a short-term investing focus,
- prefer generic advice and do not want personalized recommendations.
