About Smart401k®
Smart401k was founded in September 2003 to address the confusion that our co-founder and chief investment officer, Adam Bold, heard each week on his nationally syndicated radio show - The Mutual Fund Show. Each week someone new would call in to ask for advice about their retirement plan at work. As a result of these questions and the obvious need to provide a solution for retirement investors, Adam and co-founder Scott Revare identified a solution; unbiased advice that is accessible and cost-effective. It was at that point Smart401k was born as a Web-based service.
We started accepting customers in the summer of 2004 and initially focused on people who needed help navigating their employer-sponsored retirement plan investments. That element of our company has continued to grow, and currently we work with nearly 11,000 individual clients from several thousand employers.
More recently we began to work with employers who identified the need to bring unbiased retirement plan advice to their employees through their benefits program.
Today we work passionately to continually enhance our service. Our goal is to provide a service that never stops growing and evolving in our quest to satisfy our clients and help them reach their retirement goals.
